Ikat dyed silk & wire.

Part of the butterfly collection.  Inspired by Victorian collections of natural objects.  I have taken the idea of butterflies mounted and preserved in boxes and put them under a microscope thus enlarging the wings to see the soft, scaly textures.  Under the microscope, the wings look enormous.
